Blog Assignment 4- Protests In Egypt

Recently we discussed the current events going in Egypt and why they are occurring. In at least 5 sentences explain to me what is happening to Egypt, how would you compare and contrast(how is it alike and how is it different) it to the American Revolution, and give me your opinion on if the U.S. should get involved or not. Remember this: we discussed how President Muburak has been an American ally for 31 years but also has taken away many rights of the Egyptian people. Don't forget to put your full name at the end of the comment.

  1. In Egypt, there has been protest groups arguing because Mubarak has become a full blown dictator.
He made things to anger people such as taking away internet and making a curfew. It is similar to the Revolution because they are both protesting for their country. It is also different because they are using different weapons such as in the revolution they used muskets and cannons, but in Egypt they used some guns and tanks and molotov cocktails and clubs. I think America shouldnt get involved unless it is necessary because they could get even more angry and attack us.

  2. In Egypt the people are protesting because Mubarak is sending out new laws that the people don't like. There are also protesters protesting the protesters protesing Mubarak and they are fighting. It is like the American Revolution because the colonies didn't like having the British make them do everything they say. The people of Cairo don't like having Mubarak be a king over all of them. It is different because the fighting in Cairo did not end up in a war. I don't think we should be involved because it's their country and we should only get involved if it looks like it might start a war.

  3. People in Egypt are protesting because Mubarak the president would not come down from office. I think this is like the american revolution because people are protesting for their rights. I think it is different because this cause is to get a president to resign. I don't think the U.S. should get involved because it isn't our government.

  4. The protest in Egypt is all about them being angry that their President is acting like a dictator and is giving them a curfew and taking away the internet!!! It is like the Revolution because we went crazy mad same with them.

Us: taring and feathering tax colectors!!
Them: throwing coctail bombs at each other!!

We both do some crazy things to get freedom. It is different from the Revolution because theirs is a President ours was a king and they dont like having a dictator we didnt want to pay taxes for them. I think that America should mind it's own buisness on what happens there because we wouldn't like it if we wanted Obama ( as an example.) out of office and China was our presidents ally and they told us who we need to vote for!! We should get involved if they ask us to help them only then we should get involved !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. The people in Egypt are protesting because Mubarak the president is not allowing many things. The people don't want Mubarak to be the president. He has been taking away internet and other things. I think the US is doing the right thing because we are helping countries get what they want.

  6. In Egypt there has been a large protest against president Muburak because he is not letting them have enough freedom for example he is not letting them have internet and making them have a curfew. This is related to the American Revelution because when the British were not giving us our freedom we fought and fought till we got what we wanted!Another example is that we each did something to try to stop it because we tard and feathered tax collectors and they threw coctail bombs so we both did some type of outrageous make none of reject! Well,i dont exaclty agree on the United States to get involed with it because its not our country and maybe if we go to crazy over it something bad will happen like maybe we won't get our freedom, because of dealing with them,i dont think that they really care about us like when we have war they dont go,"oh everybody lets go fight with the Americans!"

  9. the protest is some what a minor little part of the american revolution because sadly their was no war and the dictator steped down. it was right to go against a goverment that didnt listen to the people. i perosonely wouyld hate to be under a dictatership goverment that to me is like slavery.

  10. The problem in Egypt is like the A.R. because a ruler has taken away the citizens rights. It is different because there is no war.I don't think the U.S. should get involved.I think we should let Egypt handle this problem. It doesn't matter that Egypt's president is are ally for 31 years. It this is Egypt's problem not ours.
