Today in class we discussed the topic question should the U.S. continue to give foreign aid during the recession? Remember the key terms I underlined in that question. Foreign aid is any money, medicine, or supplies given to other countries. This could be for a disaster, war, disease or development. The other term was recession. A recession is a time where the economy is not doing as well as it should. The unemployement rate is higher and the market is bad. The United States is currently in a state or recession. So after studying these terms and the topic write a 3-5 sentence statement telling me if you believe the U.S. should continue to give foreign aid during the recession and tell me why you believe that.(put your name at the end of the comment) Don't forget the stats and figures I gave you today. No because we need the money.It is nice to give when it is extremely needed.But when it is a recession we need to keep our money and it is not selfish when we neeeeeeed it.The other countries are lucky we give them any money at all.GRACIE MAFFET!!!!!!!!!!!!:D
ReplyDeleteNo because if we spend all our money giving to other countries we wouldn't have any money for ourselves. Plus, we are in a recession all ready and that would just make it worse. I feel our money should be saved so that if our nation would be in a tight situation we would have the money to fix the problem.

Also, some countries would take advantage of us and take our money to where we would be out of money that goes to places we need like schools, stores, and other places that have and sell thing we need. We also need to save money so we can use it when we really need it.

No,becuase since we are having a recession we shouldnt give money to othere countries.It is our money and we worked hard for it I dont think that we should give money to other countries at all.If they are at a time when they dont have money or stuff they need to work for it,just like we work for our money and stuff!!!Plus why do they have to ask us,what about us,what happens if we have a natural disaster???It is most likely that they wont help us!!!We are our own country and I think that we should care for ourselves not for other countries!!!

Yes, we should give foreign countries mony for aid because some are harmless. If we give to some countries while they're in need if they get lots of money someday they might give it to us in our hard times. If we do there are many harmless people that if we protect might give us a good reputation and keep it G rated with the bombs.

Yes, because if we do not give then how can we expect to be given anything. Like the time when we gave the money to build the machines to bring up the miners. If we had not, then they maybe not have survived. We gave our money even thought we had money problems ourselves.
