Blog Assignment 7- The Outcome of the Civil War
This blog assignment is purely an opinion question but I want you to take some time to really think about it before you answer. Today in class we began discussing the battles and events of the Civil War. We learned about how at the Battle of Antietam Robert E. Lee's plans were discovered which kept him from taking Washington D.C. and ending the war. This is just one example in the many turn of events that could have changed the outcome of the Civil War. In at least 5 sentences I want you to tell me how our country's history might have been different if the South had won the Civil War. Think about what happened as a result of the war: the end of slavery and Lincoln's assassination are just two things to consider. So put some thought into your answer. Don't forget to put your name and class period at the end of your post.

In one way it would be different because slavery would still be around. Another thing is everyone would start to look at Lincoln as an awful person. Then Lincoln might not have been shot cause Wilkes would reconsider killing him knowing the South won. Also even more Southeners would look at Robert E. Lee as a Hero. And to top it off we would be laughing at people in the North calling them losers. So it shows if the South won, it would be an awful disappointment. 2nd Period Parker Gonzalez
ReplyDeleteIf the south would have won there would still be slavery or maybe Martin Luther king Jr. might not have ever even protested and ended slavery for good in the U.S.. Also if the south would've won Wilkes might not have shot Lincoln. But he still hated him so he still might have killed him. If Lincoln wouldn't have freed the slaves the north could have killed him to. So either way Lincoln could have gotten killed. All an all it was good that the north won.

I am glad the North won because slavery is sick and not fare. I know that sometimes work can be hard but that does not mean that you are allowed to make someone else do the work for you. Slavery is wrong. Most of the slaves were not even treated like people that is crazy and very mean. All people should be treated equally.

I'm glad they won because slavery is not right and the South probably liked slavery but they should have known the North would win the war and that slavery is just dumb. I don't care if there black they should not be treated like a bunch of dogs. Everyone is special no matter what color their skin is. They needed slavery because they were so lazy. But because the North won Abe was killed by Booth. Booth probably killed Abe because he wanted to be cool. Instead he is now known as the most stupid man in the world because he killed Abe

Well,something that would definataly be different would be that slavery could possibly be around. Also Abraham Linclon would have probally died of old age because John Wilkes Booth would have been happy and would have not shot him. The North won the civil war thankfully for those people who found Robert E. Lee's plans and tracked him down and ruined all his plans, thankfully!!! Since the North won everybody is free!!!
